WELCOME TO MARCHING BAND 2009-2010

Dear students and parents,

The Music Department welcomes you to Lourdes High School.  We are happy that you have chosen Band as an elective and we look forward to having you as part of the music department.  It has become a tradition to welcome new band members in the spring to our program.  We spend time in the spring and summer preparing for summer parades, fall field shows, and competitions. Because of the friendships formed during this time, new band students have an easier time transitioning to Lourdes High School.

The modular schedule at Lourdes High School allows students to take college preparatory classes, foreign language classes, art classes, physical education classes, and music classes. Our band students CAN be a part of both band and sports or other extra curricular activities. Many alumni of Lourdes say that their memories of high school revolve around the band’s activities.  We structure the band’s activities to serve our school, our community, and our music education curriculum.

Current Eighth Grade/New Band students:

·        Saturday, April 25th (Marching Basics) 9:00 AM-12:00 PM at Lourdes High School Band Room.   Please call Mr. Mangan if you have a conflict and cannot attend (952)649-9674.
