<p><strong>All students need to have a lyre prior to Friday’s football game.  Lyre’s can be purchased at Welhaven Music.  Students should wear pep band shirts when not in uniform.  <span style="text-decoration: underline;">If you have not received your pep band shirt yet, wear purple.  Shirts should arrive the first week of school.</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">RCTC Stadium</span></strong></p>
<p>5:00 PM-6:00 PM                  Practice at RCTC.  Please be dressed in bibbers, T-shirt and marching band shoes</p>
<p>6:00-6:20 PM                         Get something to eat or eat your sack lunch.                 </p>
<p>6:20 PM                                  Meet with your sections for a quick tuning (section leaders:  please                                                                                            have tuner with you or make sure someone is responsible for tuning)</p>
<p>6:30 PM                                  Be ready sitting in stands for Pep Band</p>
<p>6:40 PM                                  Play pre-game music, schools songs and Star Spangled Banner right before start of game.  We will plan to play <strong>Final Countdown, Land of 1000 Dances, Championship,    Manhattan, Hey Baby, and Big Noise before the game, Lourdes School Song, “Minnesota Rouser”(Pine Island School Song) and the Star Spangled Banner.</strong></p>
<p>7:00 PM                                  Game starts.  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Students need to sit with Band in Pep Band area</span>.</strong>                                                                                 Please be ready with the school song for touchdowns.</p>
<p>End of First Quarter:            Put on jackets….get into full uniform.  Meet with sections to                                                                                                           warm-up and tune</p>
<p>Half-time:                               Performance</p>
<p>End of game:                         Play school song and load all equipment and uniforms in trailer.<span id="more-599"></span></p>
<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Pick up uniform after school Friday.</span></strong>  (Take uniform and hat, black shoes, black socks, and gloves to <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">RCTC </span></strong> stadium.)</li>
<li>Take your instrument, lyre, and Pep Band music folder to RCTC Stadium</li>
<li>You can also bring a sack lunch if you would like</li>
<li>Bring your own water bottle</li>
<li> Please dress in bibbers, marching band shoes, and T shirt for the 5:00 practice.  Students will then have time to get something to eat AFTER our 5:00-6:00 practice and BEFORE the start of Pep Band at 6:30 PM</li>
</ul>
<p>We will tune at 6:20 PM.  We begin to play around 6:40 PM.  Have tunes ready:  <strong>Final Countdown, Land of 1000 Dances, Championship, Manhattan, Hey Baby, and Big Noise before the game, Lourdes School Song, “Minnesota Rouser”(Cannon Falls School Song) and the Star Spangled Banner.</strong></p>
<p>Other notes: </p>
<p>Come around 4:40-4:45.  Find a place to hang your uniform bag and place your instrument case.  Please park in the main parking lot (the bigger lot).</p>
<p>Drink water.  Hydrate ALL DAY FRIDAY.  Make sure to eat breakfast, lunch, and take care of yourself so you are ready for our performance</p>
<p>Uniforms will need to be hung up neatly after half time.  Parents will be available to take your uniform and hang it back in the trailer.  PLEASE DO NOT put your hat in the uniform bag.  Hats should be placed in long cardboard boxes. Put the hats in the box with the top of the hat down.</p>
<p>Please remember to put your gloves in the inside pocket of your jacket.  Shoes and black socks can go in the outer pocket.</p>
<p>Relax—Have fun…you will do a great job!</p>

<p>A reminder that if a student must miss rehearsal, Mr. Mangan needs an Absence Form (found in the left hand column on the website) as soon as possible.  All band students are required to attend the mandatory band rehearsal on Sept. 1<sup>st</sup>.</p>
<p><strong>Parking Passes are ready for band students.  Mr. Mangan will bring the passes to practice this Wednesday.</strong></p>

<p><strong> </strong>All students are expected to pick-up drill outside of the band room door prior to band camp.  Please note the Lourdes High School summer hours for pick-up times.  Also, section leaders will be setting up sectionals this week to demonstrate how to make dot books.  Students will use dot books during band camp</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">UPDATE!!  New Band Members and Leadership Corps</span></strong></p>
<p>Leadership and New Band Members Practice has been changed on Thursday July 29, 2010 from 12:00-2:00 to <strong>10:00-12:00.</strong>  All leadership and new band members are required to be there.</p>
<p>Leadership will have a meeting following the practice from <strong>12:00 PM-1:00 PM</strong>.   All leadership members are required to attend the meeting. </p>

<p>Just a reminder that band camp starts next week.  I have attached the LHS Marching Band Newsletter as well as the band camp flyer.  Please review the information. </p>
<p>Students are expected to be ready at 8:55 AM with instruments put together and warmed up before practice.  It is our expectation that rehearsal begins promptly.  It will be necessary to arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of rehearsal.</p>

<p><strong>Dress Attire:</strong> Band: Marching Band Uniform, no sash. Blk socks, marching band shoes, t-shirt/shorts underneath uniform.</p>
<p><strong>Arrival Time:</strong> 5:30 PM (we will change into uniforms after our dress rehearsal)</p>
<p><strong>On Stage</strong>: 5:35 PM – (You will need to be in your seat by 5:35)</p>
<p><strong>Uniforms:</strong> 6:00-6:30 PM Change into uniforms. Section leaders are responsible for uniform checks. I will check-in with section leaders concerning uniforms.</p>
<p><strong>Tune </strong>6:30 PM All section leaders are to have tuners for their sections. At 6:38 we will tune together.</p>
<p><strong>Percussion </strong>6:30 PM Check stage for instruments with Mr. Krueger.</p>
<p><strong>On-Stage</strong>/ 6:55 PM No Instruments (leave in a safe place in band room)<br />
In Uniform Sitting in band concert seats on stage.</p>

<p>The Memorial Day Parade is just around the corner.  The Lourdes High School Marching Band is a part of a cycle to serve our community by being the host band of Rochesterfest and marching in the Memorial Day parade.  Thanks to all students and parents for your efforts in supporting our city and especially our veterans.  As a music department we feel this is a great opportunity for us to be a part of something that is important in our world. American Fantasy and Tribute to America should be memorized for this parade and Rochesterfest parade in June.<br />
